The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll be the trusted advisor for a portfolio of high-profile contracts providing insight, driving efficiency, and enabling smarter decisions. You’ll work hand-in-hand with operational leaders to improve processes, strengthen controls, and deliver robust reporting that powers strategic choices.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Own financial performance for key contracts within Mission Systems Effectors
2. Deliver accurate forecasts, ensure strong trading margins, and identify profit opportunities
3. Lead cash management reporting and maintain financial models for current and future projects
4. Support audits, provide analysis for new business, and deputise for the Lead Finance Business Partner when needed
5. Be the go-to expert for programme and finance teams making complex concepts clear and actionable
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1-2 days onsite and the rest of the week working from home.
Essential experience of the Finance Business Partner
6. Strong analytical capability and confidence working with high volumes of data.
7. Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables and data modelling.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across finance, project management, and commercial functions.
9. Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-focused mindset
Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner
10. Ideally you will be a qualified or part‑qualified accountant (CIMA preferred) or actively working towards qualification.
11. Experience with ERP systems and IFRS15 long-term contract accounting would be advantageous.
