York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP)

Applicants must have a good standard of education (GCSE pass or NVQ Level 1). Previous supervisory experience is desirable, along with a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or 3.
You will need a pleasant manner, be friendly and approachable; have the ability to empathise with staff and be diplomatic; possess good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills; work well under pressure, and be able to prioritise your own and others' workloads; and delegate efficiently.
Hours of work will be agreed but generally involve day shifts on a two-week rota, including weekends. You may also be asked to work extra hours to cover sickness and holidays.
Main duties of the job
* Compile and manage duty rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels
* Support staff training and maintain staff records
* Utilise basic computer skills
* Ensure all paperwork at ward level is completed according to policy and procedure
* Monitor food waste levels and temperature controls
* Carry out audits
* Brief and support staff on departmental issues
* Liaise with ward staff, patients, or relatives regarding special food requirements
* Ensure sufficient stock is available to replenish wards
The post holder must be flexible according to departmental needs and may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications, and Training
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or Level 2 Award in Food Safety
* Sound literacy and numeracy skills
* Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety
* Customer Care NVQ
Experience & Knowledge
* Previous supervisory experience
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
