Junior Software Engineer
Motorpoint is the UK’s leading omnichannel car retailer. We are hiring a Junior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help improve the user experience on our website.
Location & Work Model
Hybrid role: remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
Contract & Working Hours
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday). Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum.
What You'll Do
As a software engineer on the Motorpoint.co.uk website, you will streamline and enhance the car buying journey for customers, writing and optimising large‑scale, customer‑facing applications.
Essential Skills
* Knowledge of version control software (Git / Azure DevOps)
* TypeScript / JavaScript
* React / Next.js
* CSS / Sass
* Willingness to learn and advance your own knowledge
Desirable Skills
* .NET / C#
* SQL Server
* Rabbit MQ
* Experience of working in Agile environments
* Experience of working with a cloud provider (AWS / Azure)
* Experience of working with a CMS (Content Management System)
* Experience of working with a unit testing framework

* The ability to establish excellent working relationships with the existing IT team and across the wider business
