Walsall East 2 PCN are seeking a GP assistant to work across the surgeries within our PCN. The role would suit someone who has previously worked within primary care and has experience of summarising and coding clinical letters.
This role will act to support the practices in managing their day to day care of patients
Main duties of the job
* Accurately code clinical records
* Review incoming correspondence filing the document and entering pertinent information into the patient's medical record in accordance with the coding protocol.
* Liaise with clinicians and other health care staff to clarify information for coding purposes
* Highlight clinical action and workflow to appropriate clinician or team.
* Checking incoming medical records and summarising onto clinical system.
* Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in line with data protection standards.
* Assist with audits, reporting and performance monitoring activities.

Walsall East 2 PCN are looking for an administrative team member to join ourmulti-disciplinary team. You will provide support to the practices within thePCN. You will work closely with the practice staff and other ARRS roles.
Walsall East 2 PCN is made up on 5 local practices (Rushall MedicalCentre, Northgate Practice, Portland Medical Practice, Collingwood FamilyPractice and Blackwood Health Centre) and serves a population of around 43,000patients. The PCN has an above average population aged 65 years +.
We are an innovative PCN that work closely together in a proactivemanner to ensure a high standard of patient care and satisfaction.
Northgate Practice are the lead practice for the PCN, however, allWalsall East 2 PCN contracts of employment are under OurNet Health ServicesLtd. Day to day management is by the PCN Management Team, in conjunction withthe member practices.
Job responsibilities
* Review incoming correspondence filing the document and entering pertinent information into the patients electronical medical record in accordance with the Coding Protocol with attention to QOF.
* Highlight clinician action and workflow to appropriate clinician or team as per Workflow Protocol.
* Organise the medical record of patient whom you are coding, to link problem titles.
* Checking incoming medical records and summarising onto clinical system.
* Recognise own knowledge limits and seek advice from clinical or administrative colleagues as appropriate.
* To ensure code Safeguarding information and inform Safeguarding Clinical and Admin Lead when required
* To carry out administrative related tasks as delegated by Clinical Lead, PCN Managment Team or Practice Manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Previous experience in clinical coding and or healthcare administration.
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Awareness of confidentiality, data protection (GDPR) and information governance.
* Knowledge of Quality and Outcome Framework
