Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Ethos Safeguarding
o Oversee the implementation of all Consciousness‑based Education (CbE) elements across the school.
o Scrutinise the practice and application of CbE to ensure alignment with the school’s founding principles and the purity of knowledge.
o Work closely with the Board of Members and the Senior Leadership Team to maintain the school’s ethos and provide regular CbE progress reports to the Governing Body.
2. Instructional Oversight
o Oversee the instruction of Transcendental Meditation (TM) for pupils, staff and parents, coordinating with approved teachers through the local TM Centre.
o Monitor the regular checking of TM and Word of Wisdom (WoW) for both pupils and staff to ensure consistency and efficacy of technique.
o Arrange and lead CbE‑focused training for staff, including INSET days and staff meetings.
3. Curriculum & Integration
o Analyse Schemes of Work across all departments to identify and implement opportunities for the integration of CbE.
o Monitor the integration of the Consciousness‑based Interdisciplinary Studies (CbIDS) within classrooms and ensure all teaching materials are appropriate and high‑quality.
o Oversee the PSHE/RSHE curriculum to ensure it is harmoniously integrated into Consciousness‑based Living Skills (CbLS).
4. Resource Management & Outreach
o Ensure the proper use of all Maharishi Foundation copyrighted materials and manage their return by staff members who used them.
o Curate and manage printed materials and resources for use within the school to ensure they meet CbE standards.
o Act as the primary ambassador for the school’s ethos, delivering the introductory CbE presentation at Open Days and school events.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Deep understanding of, and commitment to, the school’s ethos and the concept of “Purity of Knowledge.”
* Commitment to undertake CbE training, if necessary.
* Dedicated and regular practitioner of Transcendental Meditation.
* Ability to analyse Schemes of Work to find creative links between consciousness and core subjects, and support staff in applying these links in lessons.
* Ability to support staff in developing their understanding of CbE and its integration into school life and the wider curriculum.
Desirable Criteria
* Practitioner of the TM Sidhi technique.
* Certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation.
* Prior teaching experience in a UK classroom.
Personal Attributes
* Engaging and uplifting communicator.
* Public speaker capable of explaining complex concepts of consciousness to prospective parents and stakeholders.
* Willingness to undergo further specialised training and to work transparently with the Board of Members.
* Commitment to learn the TM Sidhi technique if not already doing so.
