Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Year 5 Class Teacher to cover Maternity Leave in one of our inspirational Primary Schools in Alnwick on a full-time basis from April until the end of the Academic Year. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative Year 5 lessons that inspire pupils and allows all pupils to make progress regardless of their ability levels.
2. Stretching and challenging the learning and progress all pupils
3. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
4. Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
5. Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
6. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
7. Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
8. Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

Pay, Hours and Contract:
11. Pay – Between £130-200 per day
12. Hours –
13. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
14. Start Date – 3rd April 2026
15. Location – Alnwick
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
16. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
17. QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK.
18. Previous experience of Teaching Year 5 Class (desirable)
19. Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
20. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
21. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
22. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
23. Experience of Teaching within the UK
24. Strong organisation and communication skills
