Residential Home Manager – Children’s Services
Location: Bedfordshire / North Hertfordshire
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 p/a + 10% bonus + £1,000 for successful Ofsted registration
Additional package: Up to £80,000 p/a for dual registration + company vehicle

About the Role
A well-established provider of children’s residential services is seeking experienced and accountable Residential Home Managers to lead solo and two-bedded homes for children and young people aged 11–17 years with emotional and behavioural needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate leader who is committed to creating nurturing environments where young people can thrive. Managers will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards while supporting and inspiring staff teams.
Progression opportunities are available, with clear routes towards senior management and Responsible Individual positions. Leadership workshops and one-to-one coaching are also provided to support professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the daily operations of the home, including staff supervision, care planning, safeguarding, and compliance
* Lead with a child-centred approach, ensuring personalised care plans are in place and outcomes are achieved
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015
* Build positive working relationships within the community and with external partners to promote the best outcomes for young people
* Produce monitoring reports and contribute to ongoing service improvement
* Promote and embed equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of the home
Requirements
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services (or willingness to work towards)
* At least 2 years’ experience working with children in the past 5 years, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
* Experience of working in residential childcare and managing staff teams
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the needs of children in care
* Knowledge of relevant legislation including Children’s Homes Regulations and the Children Act
* Ability to develop and lead a high-performing, motivated staff team
