Responsibilities
Provide excellent care and support to children and young people aged 11-18 plus within the home, ensuring high levels of emotional and physical care and a comfortable, safe and supportive environment.
Support young people to build and manage relationships with families and external partners to deliver best possible standards of care and opportunities.
Use psychological and trauma-informed practice to adopt a child-centred, kind, and empathic approach.
Record and evidence all key work activities in line with Llamau and CIW requirements.
Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to manage key areas of risk, highlight and escalated health and safety, and safeguarding concerns, and provide compliance information where required.
Experience
* Working within safeguarding frameworks.
* Understanding the impact of trauma on children and young people.
* Managing risk in a responsive, calm manner.
* Working in a psychologically and trauma-informed environment.
Knowledge and Skills
* Ability to key work and engage with a number of young people who have a complex range of support needs.
* Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, using appropriate tone and use of language.
* Work on own initiative and under pressure, organising "prioritising" work to meet deadlines.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships.
* Basic IT skills, Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
* Work within the ethos of Llamau and its policies and procedures.
* Work within Health & Safety at Work regulations.

Hours of Work
Full time, average of 35 hours per week, waking nights.
