Responsibilities:
1. Assess care needs, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
2. Supervise junior staff and participate in teaching students on basic and postgraduate courses.
3. Maintain personal and professional development.
4. Participate in resource utilization.
5. Act in accordance with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
About the Unit:
Our Acute Medical Unit has 40 inpatient beds, expanding to 50. Patients are triaged on arrival and cared for in the most appropriate setting. The unit offers opportunities for growth in specialties such as Cardiovascular, Gastroenterology, Respiratory care, and more.
The team is supported by experienced physicians. Previous nurses have advanced to roles such as nurse practitioners, specialist nurses, and have achieved higher band progression.
Main duties:
1. Act as team leader for a group of patients.
2. Supervise junior nurses and unregistered staff.
3. Report accidents/incident and complete documentation.
4. Undertake delegated responsibilities from senior staff.
5. Manage medical supplies efficiently.
6. Investigate complaints and incidents.
7. Promote safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
8. Participate in appraisals.
