* In this role, you willbe planning and carrying out analysis of samples using a variety ofanalytical chemistry techniques including GC and FTIR, which includesperforming all analyses safely and in accordance with procedures, GoodLaboratory Practice and the requirements of ISO17025
* You will be travellingto customer and other BOC sites to undertake on-site testing of gases andassisting customers with problem solving
* In addition, you will beplanning and carrying out validation and re-validation of analyticalinstruments and methods
* Interpreting data andproducing test and validation reports taking responsibility for your owncontent
* Providing analytical andtechnical advice and support to improve productivity, efficiency andsafety of the business
* Working with othermembers of the laboratory team to review our processes to identify andimplement opportunities for improvement for example continual developmentand improvement of the laboratory quality management system.
* Helping maintainlaboratory equipment as required (service, calibration, upkeep)
What makes you great
* You have a degree inChemistry, with analytical bias if possible, or equivalent experience
* Working knowledge ofanalytical instrumentation and techniques in particular GC and FTIR
* In addition, you musthold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel which may be atshort notice when required
* You have the ability towork in a team environment but also self-motivated to work without closesupervision
* Excellentproblem-solving and strong written and verbal communication skills arerequired
* Furthermore, you arecomfortable using MS office & other applications with a passion tolearn new digital tools and skills to help optimise and automate ourprocesses
* And lastly, you workwith integrity aligned to the values of being an inclusive workplace
