Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Location: Bradford Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year Working Hours / Shift Pattern: Full Time Employment Type: Permanent Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Workforce (essential) Level 5 Diploma in Children, Young People & Families (or willingness to work towards) Experience Required: Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential care for children At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a similar environment Who we are looking for: Our client is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of a children’s residential home. The successful candidate will support the Home Manager in ensuring high-quality care, strong safeguarding practice, and a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people. The role requires someone with strong leadership ability, a clear understanding of children’s emotional, social, and educational needs, and knowledge of the policies and procedures required to operate a residential children’s home. Key responsibilities include building trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals, implementing personalised care plans, and acting as a key worker supporting children’s development and wellbeing. You will also lead shifts, supervise staff, mentor team members, and ensure consistent high-quality care across the service. The role includes supporting home management and compliance, maintaining accurate records such as daily logs, care plans and incident reports, ensuring the home meets health, safety and safeguarding standards, and assisting the Home Manager with audits, inspections, and improvement initiatives.
