Join our team at HiQ Tyres & Autocare Thatcham, a franchise automotive business supported by Goodyear Tyres UK. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled MOT Tester to join our team and ensure the safety and compliance of vehicles undergoing MOT testing.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be responsible for conducting MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
* Conduct thorough MOT inspections on vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
* Identify mechanical issues and provide accurate diagnostics to customers.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs performed.
* Communicate findings clearly to customers, providing recommendations for any required work.
* Ensure the workshop is kept clean and organised at all times.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations while performing tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Experience
* Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various vehicle systems.
* Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
* A valid MOT Tester licence is essential for this position.
