About Us:

MensCraft is a Norfolk-based charity focusing exclusively on the health and wellbeing of boys and men. We support men facing life's challenges or experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Our work includes information, activities, programmes, one-to-one support, and connections to specialist services.

About the Role:

This exciting new leadership role will oversee the design and delivery of a targeted health and wellbeing programme for adolescent boys aged 13-19 and their families across Norfolk.

As Team Leader, you will drive the strategic direction and hands-on implementation of engaging, evidence-informed initiatives that promote positive masculinity, emotional wellbeing, personal development, and healthy relationships among teenage boys and young men.

You will lead and participate in activities such as group workshops, school-based sessions, one-to-one mentoring, and creative outlets like podcasting and inspirational speaker events. You'll create safe, inclusive spaces where young men can connect with positive role models, explore aspirations, and access meaningful support.

Working closely with both parents and professionals, you'll deliver workshops (e.g., "How to Raise a Boy"), provide practical tools to improve family communication, and support the creation of peer-led networks.

This role involves building strong partnerships with schools and local organisations in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, and Lowestoft, ensuring activities are accessible, impactful, and aligned with the needs of adolescent boys and their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide thought leadership on issues affecting adolescent boys' and young men's wellbeing.

Plan and implement all aspects of the programme's delivery across Norwich, East Norfolk, and Lowestoft.

Line manage a project worker and coordinate a small delivery team.

Organise and deliver scheduled programme elements, including group sessions, mentoring, workshops, and community events.

Identify and implement strategies to help boys overcome barriers to engagement.

Develop and deliver a variety of engaging, relevant, and positive activities for boys and young men.

Recruit, train, and support associates and facilitators to deliver sessions and workshops.

Publicise the programme locally to ensure high visibility and engagement, especially among boys, young men, and their families.

Build and maintain strong multi-agency partnerships and local collaborations.

Deliver one-to-one and group-based support, including advice, mentoring, advocacy, and reflective discussion.

Make referrals to appropriate specialist services (e.g., mental health, substance misuse) as needed.

Collect and maintain accurate data in line with safeguarding, GDPR, and reporting requirements.

Monitor and evaluate the impact of activities and ensure continuous improvement based on participant feedback and outcomes.

Ensure appropriate handling and escalation of complex and/or high-risk concerns.

Report regularly to funders and stakeholders against agreed KPIs.

Manage the programme budget efficiently and transparently.

What we need from you:

Essential Youth Work Experience:

Experience working directly with young people, ideally teenage boys or young men.

A commitment to improving outcomes for adolescent boys and their families.

Knowledge of youth development approaches, co-creation, and trauma-informed practice.

Experience supporting and supervising trainees, students, or volunteers.

Skills & Attributes:

Empathy and a clear understanding of the importance of targeted men's/youth work.

Familiarity with social media platforms and how young people engage with them.

A strong track record in delivering or coordinating support services.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

Confidence building trust with boys, families, schools, and partner organisations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to groups.

Reliability, flexibility, and a solutions-focused approach.
