Electrical & Electronic Engineer About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical & Electronic Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing business. The successful candidate will provide technical and maintenance support across all production departments, helping to maintain and enhance equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities * Install, maintain, and improve electrical and electronic control systems across production equipment. * Support production and maintenance teams to ensure maximum uptime and performance. * Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, using strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. * Program, update, and modify PLCs and HMI systems (experience with Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi preferred). * Upgrade and replace outdated control systems to improve reliability and standardisation across the site. * Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules to meet production goals. * Lead or support continuous improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives. * Accurately record all maintenance and breakdown activities using dedicated software. * Supervise and liaise with contractors and service engineers when required. * Ensure all equipment meets compliance, safety, and insurance requirements. About You Essential Skills & Experience: * Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production support or maintenance engineering role. * Strong electrical and electronic fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair capabilities. * Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively at all levels. * Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC ONC or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. * Knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, VFDs/VSDs, servo drives, and 3-phase electrical systems. Desirable Skills & Experience: * Strong understanding of automation, instrumentation, and control panel design. * Experience designing or modifying electrical safety systems (e.g. safety relays/interlocks). * Competence using 2D electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD, EPlan, or Edraw.
