Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team at NHS Jobs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the practice teams, ensuring the safe and efficient use of medicines. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Ipswich, offering a negotiable salary.
Key Activities / Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
* Providing support to practice teams by answering queries from patients and staff within professional competence.
* Assisting pharmacists in improving quality and safety related to the use of medicines, including conducting patient safety audits.
* Managing medication safety alerts and assisting with medicines reconciliation in accordance with practice protocols.
* Updating patient medical records and prescribing information as needed.
* Contributing to the achievement of the Practice’s prescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) targets.
* Participating in the review and development of repeat prescribing protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Advising GPs, staff, and patients on changes to prescribing for improved safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
* Supporting patients in managing their medications, including synchronizing medications and setting up electronic repeat dispensing.
* Assisting in the monitoring and management of prescribing budgets and liaising with the Medicines Management team.
* Collaborating with Burlington Pharmacists to provide medication reviews, patient information leaflets, and enhancing medicine awareness throughout the clinical team.
* Taking a proactive approach to the safe handling of prescriptions, assessing risks, and making recommendations for improvement.
* Responding to medication queries from patients and staff in a professional manner.

* Promoting cost-effective, safe, evidence-based prescribing.
