About the Role Bus Service Management is a career like no other. As an Arriva Controller, you’ll play a vital role in keeping London moving. Working within the demanding Transport for London (TfL) network, you’ll guide drivers, manage live service issues, and ensure buses run safely, efficiently, and on time. You’ll be part of a 24/7 operation and will: Communicate with drivers via radio and face-to-face Use advanced GPS tracking and technology to monitor and regulate bus services Ensure compliance with TfL standards and service expectations This is a fixed-term 9-month maternity cover contract, offering you the chance to build your skills and experience in a highly respected operational environment. Training & Support Our selection process includes an application review and interview. If successful: Training: You’ll complete a paid 4-week training course covering all core aspects of the role Mentorship: After training, a dedicated mentor will support you as you settle into the position Earnings Trainee Controller Rate (0–6 months): £42,000 Controller Rate (6–18 months): £44,000 Overtime Rate: £29.03/hour (Rates are subject to annual review. As this is a maternity cover role, standard salary progression still applies across the contract period.) Schedule Five days out of seven on a rolling rota, including weekends.
