Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within operating theatres, specialising in anaesthesia, surgery, and recovery. Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and management of operating theatres, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.
* Provide expert patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as authorised.
* Support anaesthetists and surgeons with the administration of anaesthesia, ensuring patient stability throughout procedures.
* Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitor patients' physiological parameters continuously, recognising early signs of deterioration and responding appropriately.
* Assist with complex procedures in specialised areas such as ICU or paediatrics when required.
* Document all patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies and medical terminology standards.
* Participate in infection control protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
* Proven ICU experience with a strong background in critical care settings.
* Experience working within paediatric or hospital environments is highly desirable.
* Comprehensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to perioperative care.
* Demonstrated competence in aseptic technique, infection control practices, and basic life support (BLS).
* Strong analysis skills to assess patient conditions rapidly and accurately.
* Relevant professional qualification as an Operating Department Practitioner recognised by the appropriate regulatory body.

Pay: £17.00-£25.00 per hour
