The Role: HR Generalist (People & Culture Champion)
This is a brand-new role and a BIG one for us. As we grow, we’re looking for someone who will shape and champion our people experience across the business.
You’ll be at the heart of everything we do—supporting our teams, building an incredible culture, and making Dougies Goodies not just a great place to work, but an unforgettable one.
This role is perfect for a commercially minded, people-focused HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves doing things a little differently. You’ll bring structure where needed—but never at the expense of fun, creativity, and personality.
What You’ll Be Doing
Team
* Be the go-to person for all things people—supporting, coaching, and empowering our teams across the business.
* Partner with managers to build strong, self-sufficient, high-performing teams.
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to bring in and keep amazing people.
* Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and development.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records across all HR systems, always ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Passion
* Champion a positive, inclusive, and energising workplace culture.
* Develop and deliver training and development initiatives that help our people grow.
* Ensure every team member feels valued, heard, and set up for success.
* Drive engagement initiatives that keep morale high and teams motivated.
* Take ownership of HR administration with pride—ensuring all documentation is accurate, professional, and delivered in a timely manner.
Unconventional
* Help us do HR differently bringing fresh, creative ideas to how we attract, develop, and retain talent.
* Review and evolve policies, processes, and ways of working to fit our unique brand.
* Prepare clear, compliant HR documentation including contracts, letters, and policy updates—making sure everything is legally sound but still reflects our tone and culture.
* Support business growth by aligning people strategies with commercial goals.

Keeping Things Running Smoothly
* Provide accurate and timely payroll data to support monthly payroll processing, ensuring all hours, absences, and changes are correctly recorded and communicated.
* Work closely with finance and management teams to ensure payroll queries are resolved quickly and efficiently.
* Continuously review HR systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
What You’ll Need
* Previous experience (ideally 3–5+ years) in an HR Generalist or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, and people development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you’re a natural people person.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business where no two days are the same.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to align people strategy with business goals.
* A genuine passion for people, culture, and creating an amazing workplace.
