Our main operating centres are based in Esh Winning (Durham) and Great Heck (near Selby).
The Opportunity : We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fleet Administrate Assistant to assist with our fleet management and compliance efforts. This is a pivotal role ensuring the efficiency, safety, and legal compliance of our fleet, while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the fleet engineer in the day to day management of the HGV fleet.
* Support in scheduling routine maintenance, inspections and servicing.
* Help manage vehicle breakdowns, recoveries and repairs effectively and promptly.
* Ensure fleet activities comply with DVSA regulations and operator license requirements.
* Help maintain accurate vehicle records, maintenance schedules and defect reporting logs.
* Act as a point of contact for HGV drivers regarding vehicle issues.
* Liaise with external garages and internal workshops for serving and repairs.
* Monitor service schedules and vehicle MOT expiry dates.
* Identify and report on opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
* Support incident and accident investigations.
* Maintain up to date vehicle records.
* Assist with audits, and external compliance checks.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a logistics environment.
* Knowledge of operator license and DVSA requirements
* Strong knowledge of UK transport laws, WTD, and driver hours.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* CPC qualification (desirable).
