Role Summary:
This is a senior hire to lead a newly formed Professional Indemnity Centre of Excellence in Liverpool. The role will take responsibility for servicing and growing a consolidated Design & Construct PI book, acting as the senior technical and client-facing lead. The focus is on retention, technical excellence, growth, internal collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of PI specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and retain a Design & Construct PI portfolio through high-touch, technically robust client service
* Act as the senior technical authority on D&C PI risks, supporting complex placements and negotiations
* Drive growth through referrals, internal collaboration, and cross-selling PI across the wider advisory network
* A progressive, growth mindset to identify and leverage opportunities across the wider group where Design & Construct PI capability can add value.
* Serve as a central point of expertise within the PI Centre of Excellence, embedding best practice and consistency
* Mentor and coach junior colleagues to develop technical capability and protect against future knowledge gaps
* Build strong internal relationships across the wider group to increase PI penetration and visibility
Requirements:
* Deep technical expertise in Professional Indemnity, with a strong focus on Design & Construct risks
* Background within a commercial insurance brokerage environment
* Strong understanding of construction sector risk profiles and insurer appetite
* Commercial awareness with a growth-led, consultative mindset
* Confident communicator able to advise clients at senior level
* ACII (or equivalent) preferred
