ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be the direct link between Northumbria University and schools and colleges primarily within Yorkshire and the Humber region. Your role involves delivering engaging workshops, presentations and activities to students, promoting Northumbria and encouraging applications from high‑quality students from diverse backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Represent the University at Higher Education exhibitions and work with coordinators to develop and deliver recruitment and widening participation events.
* Proactively build relationships with schools and colleges through phone, email and face‑to‑face contact.
* Work towards specific regional targets for outreach sessions and use data and intelligence to inform recruitment strategies.
* Engage with schools and colleges to promote Northumbria and increase applications from diverse backgrounds.
* Attend and represent the University at outreach sessions, events and meetings as required.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
This is a fixed‑term role until 30 June 2028.
The role is based in a Yorkshire and Humber postcode but is home‑based.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Applicants must have a current full UK driving licence and be willing to drive long distances, including evenings and weekends, and must hold a DBS check.
ABOUT THE TEAM
You will be joining the Student Recruitment team within Marketing, a collaborative and dynamic team dedicated to attracting talented students to Northumbria University.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* An Honours degree or equivalent.
* Residency in a Yorkshire and Humber postcode.
* Excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.
* Great organisational skills and experience working with young people or evidence of an interest.
* Experience in customer service and/or managing relationships.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and workshops to varied audiences.
* A full UK driving licence, competence and willingness to drive long distances, including evenings and weekends.
* DBS check is required.
* Flexible working required; evenings and weekends at events or travelling.
