This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a busy and supportive Private Client team in Worthing. Working closely with a Probate Partner and wider fee-earning team.The Legal Secretary will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the department and delivering a professional, efficient service to clients at what can often be a sensitive time.Day to day, the Legal Secretary will: Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to legal professionalsManage calendars, schedule appointments and organise meetingsPrepare, proofread and format a wide range of legal documents using Microsoft Word and ExcelUndertake audio typing for legal correspondence and documentationMaintain well-organised electronic and paper filing systems, including opening, closing, storing and retrieving client files in line with office proceduresLiaise with clients, the Probate Registry, OPG, utility companies and other organisations, always delivering a calm and professional serviceHandle general office duties such as answering telephones, managing correspondence and maintaining office suppliesUse IT systems and case management effectively to manage information and support the wider officeProvide flexible cover for other legal secretaries across the business when required To be successful in this role, the Legal Secretary will need to bring: Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a legal environmentStrong audio typing skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detailConfident IT skills, with solid experience of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and work well under pressureClear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, to deal effectively with clients and colleaguesA proactive, can-do approach, able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a teamA professional, client-focused attitude and a confidential, discreet approach to sensitive matters Experience within Probate, Conveyancing or Litigation would be highly beneficial.This opportunity is with a well-established, reputable law firm with a strong presence in the local area.
