Job overview

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), Band 6, to join the integrated Mental Health Team at HMP Forest Bank. This is an exciting opportunity to provided evidenced - based low- intensity interventions and psycho-educational groups to adult males who are currently involved with the criminal justice system. To work within a multidisciplinary team who deliver high-quality care.

The post holder will play a key role i overseeing our Step 2 provision, offering both clinical and managerial supervision to qualified and trainee PWP's, whilst contributing to service development, audit and innovative practice. This role requires a practitioner who can work both autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating resilience, compassion and a commitment to the Trust's values. With strong support from senior colleagues, the successful candidate will help ensure accessible, effective and recovery-focused mental health services for people with common mental health difficulties in a challenging but rewarding setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide low-intensity, evidence-based psychological interventions including guided self-help including the delivery of group interventions for the service users within HMP Forest Bank, carrying out thorough assessments, risk management, and care planning in line with Trust policies.

They will take responsibility for organising and managing their own caseload, including screening and accepting referrals, and will ensure accurate record keeping and outcome monitoring. In addition, the post holder will oversee the Step 2 provision, offering clinical and managerial supervision to PWP's and trainees, and supporting service development and audit activities. They will actively contribute to multidisciplinary working across the prison and wider services, liaise with partner agencies and promote access to psychological support for a diverse service user population

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
