Main responsibilities and key outcomes
Dalkia Engineering is seeking an experienced a Health & safety Advisor to support our H&S team in solving complex organisational and operational challenges through people-based safety solutions and allow us to grow our unique culture as we grow the business. You’ll be an integral part of the team, so you’ll need to understand every aspect of the business and act as a leader regarding HSE and Q within the Construction site operations environment
You will be guiding managers through an exciting time of growth for Dalkia Engineering, hence your ability to establish your personal and functional credibility and to build strong working relationships acting as a trusted advisor will be key.

Manages who:
Health and safety specialist contractors, suppliers and project workers employed on specific temporary work projects
Key Responsibilities
1. Partner with specified Dalkia Projects to deliver a comprehensive Safety and Health advisory and guidance service to Project Managers and their teams to ensure all aspects of best practice safe working environment are established and maintained
2. Support Dalkia’s pre-qualification process across Health, Safety, Environment and Quality components of bids.
3. Monitor Project site compliance and procedures against Imtech’s policies and propose solutions.
4. Reviews Risk Assessments, Method Statements and POWRA
5. Carry out HSEQ audits and inspections as directed by the H&S Manager
6. Provides expert resource for investigations into incidents and near misses, illnesses and injuries in order to establish root causes and so make recommendations for changes and improvements to prevent reoccurrences.
7. Take a broad / long term perspective and proactively identify complex challenges and think systemically. Identify and offer solutions and drive implementation
8. Work closely with the Business leadership and HR teams to define appropriate safety initiatives and plans
9. Work on a range of HSEQ improvement projects and initiatives
10. Support development of Sub Contractor and suppliers approach to HSEQ performance and compliance.
11. Prepare presentations and data/insights analysis working with other HRBPs and subject matter experts as required
12. Able to influence, coach and drive impact through effective working relationships
Capabilities to fulfil the role:
Knowledge
13. Working knowledge of HSEQ processes, practices and systems and the ability to drive their improvement
14. Knowledge of HSE systems design and implementation
15. Ability to analyse and interpret HR data in order to drive informed business decisions, and carry them out
16. The ability to build professional working relationships with internal and external staff, up to and including Board Level.

Educational Qualification Required (preferred):
29. A recognised Safety qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent)
30. Construction Industry specific training
31. May be H&S MSc /Chartered MIOSH status
Previous Work Experience Required:
32. Ideally 3 years of HSEQ experience in a Construction site environment.
33. Experience should include a focus on safety performance management and effective influencing of construction managers and teams.
