We are currently recruiting for a band 7 Senior sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic and friendly Paediatric Critical Care team at the Royal London Hospital, to provide high quality and professional care for children and their families.
We are a tertiary referral centre accepting admissions from north east London and further afield to support the increasing demand for Paediatric critical care.
Our unit consists of 10 beds and we look after a mix of intensive care and highly dependent babies, children and young people. As a major trauma centre, we play a vital role in caring for all children 0-16 years. We deal daily with emergency and elective surgical admissions so can provide a varied experience for you.
As a Band 7, you will need to have previous experience of working within Paediatric Intensive Care and to have completed your intensive care trainingYour main responsibility will be the clinical care of critically ill children; whilst allowing you the opportunity to share your knowledge, experience and skills This position will also give you the chance to develop your managerial and leadership skills
You will need to thrive on working in a dynamic environment; willing to teach other staff; demonstrate self-motivation and work well in a team. You should demonstrate a commitment to your own professional practice, as well as delivering high quality holistic care, with an emphasis on working in partnership with the children and their families.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will lead by example as an expert specialist nurse and provide expert clinical, organizational and professional leadership to the nursing team. As an expert practitioner in Paediatric Intensive Care, the post holder will be responsible for setting and maintaining a high standard of nursing care to children and their families.at Unit level, setting and delivering high standards of clinical care.

1. RSCN / RN Child with current NMC registration
2. Educated to degree level or working towards.
3. Paediatric Intensive Care Course/415 or equivalent
4. Preparation for Mentorship course or equivalent
5. Evidence of continued professional development
