My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for a number of industries. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Farnborough on a permanent basis. The role will involve a mix of CAD and hands-on engineering in the workshop.
The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Eager to work in a hands-on and varied Engineering role
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, plastics, injection moulding, machining etc
* Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
* Interested in building high precision electromechanical products
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
* Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
* A background in Manufacture would be beneficial
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
* Team player
* Eager to train and develop their career in Engineering/Manufacture
The Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
* Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
* Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
* Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
* Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical assembly of a variety of products and equipment
* Opportunities to train in different areas of Engineering
* Working to procedures and instructions
* Testing and fault-finding
* Working on the factory floor
* Communicating with different departments to resolve technical issues
