Our client is a leading MEP subcontractor with a turnover in excess of £800m, delivering complex mechanical and electrical packages across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, life sciences, and industrial projects. Operating from 35 regional offices across the UK, the business is recognised for its scale, technical capability, and consistent delivery of high-value building services installations.
Due to continued growth within their Yorkshire region, specifically their Leeds office, our client is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple MEP projects, ensuring robust cost control, accurate forecasting, and effective subcontractor management from procurement through to final account. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams, the M&E Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in driving profitability and commercial success across a portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all commercial and financial aspects of MEP packages across multiple projects from the Leeds regional office
Prepare, submit, and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients and main contractors
Carry out detailed cost reporting, forecasting, and budget management across assigned projects
Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tender analysis and negotiation
Administer contracts in line with relevant terms (including variations, claims, and change control)
Monitor project costs and ensure accurate financial reporting to senior management
Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure alignment between site progress and commercial reporting
Assess and value variations, change orders, and compensation events
Support risk management and value engineering initiatives
Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with company procedures
Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to resolve commercial matters
Contribute to monthly financial reviews and project performance reporting
