My clients are looking for a motivated individual with a foundational level of competency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has basic CAD skills and is keen to develop further within a supportive environment. We are committed to providing ongoing training and professional development, giving the successful candidate a clear progression route within DUS.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and update CAD drawings to record installed assets and services for all projects.
* Ensure drawings meet required standards and are submitted in the correct format.
* Attend construction sites in the Preston area at least twice per week to gather information, verify installations, and liaise with the site team.
* Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to ensure accurate documentation.
* Maintain organized records and support the wider team with drawing‑related tasks.
* Communicate clearly and professionally both in person on‑site and via email.
Skills & Experience Required
* Basic competency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instruction.
* Clear and professional written communication skills, particularly via email.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Willingness to visit construction sites regularly.
Desirable (but not essential)
* Previous experience in a construction, engineering, or technical environment.
* Understanding of asset recording or technical documentation.
* Interest in progressing toward a more advanced CAD or technical role.
What We Offer
* Full training and ongoing professional development.
* A clear career progression pathway within DUS.
* Hybrid working arrangement (office/home) with required site visits.
* Supportive team environment and exposure to a variety of projects.
