About the Role
An established and growing engineering organisation with over 100 years of industry experience is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join its busy Machine Shop team.
The business offers a unique, fully integrated service covering diagnosis, repair, manufacture, rebuild, testing and painting—all under one roof. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a skilled machinist with a strong focus on quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting and operating manual lathes
* Producing high-quality components to strict tolerances and deadlines
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Carrying out routine machine maintenance
* Monitoring machine performance and reporting faults
* Collaborating with engineering teams to optimise manufacturing processes
* Maintaining accurate production records and reporting issues to management
Requirements
* Proven experience operating manual lathes
* Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
* Strong knowledge of metalworking equipment and tools
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
* Minimum 5 years’ machine shop experience preferred
Working Hours
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
* Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
