Reports to: Nursery Owner

Key Objectives

The Nursery Manager will be expected to provide high quality, flexible childcare for families from the local communities.

The Nursery Manager will oversee the operation of the Nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and care are provided for young children.

Ensure that the statutory requirements of the EYFS are adhered to at all times.

Ensure that Nursery Policies and Procedures are maintained at all times.

The Nursery Manager will be a key holder for the Nursery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational

To be responsible for and to oversee the day to day management, staffing, organisation and smooth running of the Nursery.

Ensuring the Nursery meets the required standards, ratios and conditions of registration.

Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, race gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background.

Keeping all Nursery policies and procedures up to date and are reviewed annually. As a member of the management team, to contribute to the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the Nursery.

Ensuring effective staff recruitment following the procedures in place.

Organising a supervision timetable that ensures that all staff have a supervision at least once per term. Monitoring the outcomes of these supervisions and ensuring training is kept up to date.

Ensuring good quality care and supervision of the children with regards to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.

To manage the Nursery curriculum and ensure that the highest standards of teaching and learning are achieved.

To ensure effective communication between the Nursery and all partner organisations.

To keep a register and up to date records of all children using the Nursery and to ensure that regular feedback is provided to parents about their child's development and progress.

Oversee the sending of staff hours to payroll for generation of staff salaries.

Organising events that publicise the Nursery; these may include fundraising charity events. Oversee the marketing and advertising of the Nursery through social media and newsletters.

Carrying out disciplinary procedures and undertaking investigations where necessary.

Complying with health and safety legislation. Ensure the highest standard of safety and security within the Nursery. Being aware of the outcome of risk assessments and fully implementing the specified controls.

Ensuring a robust procedure is in place for the management of children's allergy, medication and dietary requirements.

Ensures safe storage and appropriate access for all information to guarantee compliance with data protection legislation.

Ensure the delivery of childcare in a way that meets parents' needs and works in partnership with them in providing high levels of customer care at all times.

Showing prospective parents around the Nursery and providing all the information they require prior to their child starting.

Acting as a senior member of staff for Safeguarding

Holding a paediatric first aid certificate.

Any other tasks as required by the Nursery/Owner.

Decisions

The Nursery Manager will be expected to work autonomously in relation to the day to day management of the Nursery. The role requires the confidence to make day to day decisions thoughtfully and with a high degree of sensitivity to the needs of children parents and staff.

The Nursery Manager will update the Nursery Owner of their work priorities and suggestions for change at strategic meetings.

Contacts and Relationships

The Nursery Manager will be expected to build good working relationships at every level, working in partnership with parents and families. The Nursery Manager must be approachable, friendly and able to communicate effectively at all times.

The Nursery Manager will be expected to respect the confidentiality of sensitive family information at all times (subject to child protection policies and procedures).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Education:

* A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

* Nursery: 4 years (required)
* Nursery Manageent: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

* Driving Licence (preferred)
* DBS (preferred)

Work Location: In person
