Hays are working in partnership with a leading global Project and Cost Management Consultancy with over 70 years of integrated project and programme management expertise in the search for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for their Belfast office, on a permanent basis. This local Consultancy are renowned for delivering a variety of £multi-million schemes throughout both public & private clients. Working closely with one of Northern Ireland’s most reputable public sector bodies, they now seek an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join and bolster their stable management team and deliver on some of the most prestigious construction projects across the world.
Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering work that's driven by excellence as well as doing the right thing. You'll share a reputation for working on some of the UK's most high-profilemissions. Your teams will work across a wide range of projects within theplex infrastructure sector, including rail, highways, utilities, defence, energy and aviation. As well as building long-term, sustainable relationships with our most important clients, you'll also be a catalyst for your colleagues' career progression.You will also be expected to work within a team and provide a range of Quantity Surveying / Employer’s Agent duties from project inception through topletion, Prepare Estimates / Cost Plans / Tender Documents / Tender Reports, have the Ability to review tender submissions and subsequently negotiate and rmend a contract sum, Provide post contract Quantity Surveying / Employer’s Agent services, Prepare data and reports to timescales in a format required by line management/client, Work collaboratively with other service teams to provide an integrated approach to client delivery and Manage client relationships and service delivery on a project basis, in conjunction with senior management.
What you'll need to succeed
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, to succeed in this role you will display the following criteria;
1. Qualified with a BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification).
2. Experience in NEC Contracts.
3. Sound experience of working with both private and public sector clients and a working knowledge of construction contracts.
4. Experience of programme delivery with quick turnaround projects.
5. A knowledge and understanding of theponent parts of a project and overall construction costs, coupled with apetent knowledge of a range of project procurement options.
6. Great interpersonal skills, an ability tomunicate effectively (both internally and with Clients), and a willingness and determination to progress your career.
