Duty & Advice Social Worker – Permanent
Location: Oldham Council
Salary: £36,648 – £39,186
The Role
Work as part of a co-located multi‑agency team including Greater Manchester Police, Health professionals, Community Safety, Adult Social Care, IDVA, and Prevention Hub. This collaborative approach enables more effective communication between partner agencies.
* Respond to incoming contacts in a timely and effective manner
* Identify and secure the most appropriate service to safeguard children and families
* Communicate with families, professionals, and members of the public
* Gather key information to support evidence‑based decision making
* Make confident threshold decisions in line with statutory duties
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and statutory social worker functions
