Engineer | Private Hospital | Spire Clare Park Hospital - Farnham | Full Time| Permanent | Competitive salary dependent on experience
Spire Clare Park Hospital is seeking an experienced Engineer to join their fantastic team on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will work as part of the engineering team providing a comprehensive and cost-effective engineering service within the hospital. Maintaining a safe environment for all staff and customers.
For over 35 years, Spire Clare Park Hospital has been providing surgery, medical care, out patients and diagnostic imaging services for adults, children and young people within Surrey and Hampshire. Recently rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, we offer a wide range of surgical specialities that include cosmetic surgery, bones & joints, eye surgery, general surgery and women’s health. Our on-site facilities include three operating theatres (two with laminar flow), two wards with 34 registered beds (used flexibly for inpatients and day care) and a three bedded enhanced recovery unit.
Job Purpose
To work as part of the engineering team providing a comprehensive engineering and maintenance service within the hospital, which ensures a safe environment for all Patients, Visitors, Staff and Contractors.
The role will require repair, maintenance or installation of all plant, equipment, systems and building structure/fabric.
This will consist of Planned Preventative Maintenance, testing and calibration, fault finding, defect correction and supporting the emergency on call on a rota basis.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the list below):
1. Carries out weekly maintenance duties
2. Carries out minor repairs
3. Takes part in ‘on-call’ and ‘relief on-call’ duty rota system
4. Carries out tasks as directed via BMS System, performing PPM and reactive maintenance
5. Carries out routine tests of equipment
6. Responsible for internal maintenance and upkeep of hospital
7. Performs daily readings and minor maintenance/decoration
Qualifications, Training and Experience
8. Job holder should have completed basic secondary education
9. Served a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with C&G Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical field
10. Should have experience of similar work, preferably in a hospital
11. Extensive knowledge of building services
12. Able to prioritise demands against resources
13. Able to support hospital compliance with changing legislation
