Sales Administrator – Builders Merchant (Maternity Cover)
Location: Congleton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Contract: Maternity Cover – initially 10 months, with the potential for a permanent role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-respected builders merchant based in Congleton, who are looking for a confident and reliable Sales Administrator to join their busy trade counter team.
This is a maternity cover position initially for 10 months, but there is potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.
The Role:
Working as part of a small, friendly team on a busy trade counter, you’ll be supporting customers face-to-face and over the phone. This is a fast-paced environment where excellent customer service and attention to detail are key.
Key Duties:
1. Assisting customers at the trade counter with product advice and order processing
2. Answering incoming calls and handling enquiries professionally
3. Creating quotes, processing orders, and checking stock availability
4. Liaising with suppliers and other branches as required
5. Supporting general admin and sales-related tasks
What We’re Looking For:
6. Previous experience in a sales admin or trade counter role preferred
7. Strong communication and customer service skills
8. Good IT skills and attention to detail
9. Knowledge of building materials is a bonus, but not essential
10. A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
What’s on Offer:
11. Monday to Friday hours – 08:00 to 17:00
12. No weekend work
13. Starting pay rate of £12.21ph
