Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of their finance function, supporting accurate financial reporting, and maintaining effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities of Finance Assistant
* Assist in processing and reconciling supplier invoices and payments
* Manage customer invoicing, credit control, and resolving invoice queries
* Support month-end procedures including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
* Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
* Assist in producing financial reports and supporting analysis
* Monitor and report on cash flow and bank transactions
* Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and company policies
* Liaise with internal departments and external partners (e.g., suppliers, auditors)
* Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects
Skills & Qualifications
1. Previous experience in a finance/accounts assistant or similar role
2. AAT qualification (or working towards) desirable
3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, or similar)
4. Strong numerical and analytical skills
5. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
