Summary

Jenks & Cattell Engineering’s apprenticeship programme is being expanded this year because here, we recognise the importance of developing young adult’s skills and providing a training platform to upskill the next generation of engineers and technicians.

Wage

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Engineering technician (level 3)

Hours
Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 4.00pm and 7.30am to 12.00PM midday on Friday.

37 hours a week

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

* Assist in service & repair of press tools and robot welding fixtures
* Work under the supervision of highly skilled toolmakers to learn to safely operate lathes, milling machines, radial drillers & surface grinders
* Use precision measuring instruments like micrometre’s gauges and CMM machines
* Implement tooling improvements
* Complete tool reports and ordering of spare parts
* Interface with new production tooling manager on new tooling projects
* Comply with the quality and environment standards procedures and instructions

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

* English (grade A*-C (4-9))
* Maths (grade B/5)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
