Pay: Up to £36,050.00 per year
Job Description: Are you passionate about food and able to multi‑task your way through a shift? Due to a recent upturn in business levels, a new and exciting Senior Sous Chef role has become available at the Copthorne Hotel in Cardiff! As our Senior Sous Chef you'll be a confident individual capable of running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef whilst simultaneously supporting the more junior team members. Always ready to “hit the ground running” whilst enjoying the fast pace of the kitchen, and being consistently able to produce top quality dishes under pressure. We are happy to develop and train any capable and willing Head Chefs of the future! Responsibilities
* Assisting the Head Chef in controlling food costs and achieving gross profit targets through effective stock controls and waste monitoring, placing appropriate food orders, supervising receipt of deliveries & authorising acceptance by signature, and overseeing correct storage of goods received in line with relevant legislation.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge in all government Health and Food Safety legislation including HACCP, ensuring all necessary checks are completed throughout the kitchen (both quality and safety checks).
* Having a genuine passion for food, leading by example to all other chefs in all elements of food preparation and service.
* Ensuring our dishes are always at their best & to the standards as agreed with the team but in line with brand expectations, ensuring all Allergen information is readily available.
* Displaying the right temperament to successfully run the kitchen in the absence of Head Chef, promoting teamwork and delivering a quality service through effective communication and coordination with other departments.
