The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Technical: Carries out both self-initiated and assigned technical tasks that may significantly impact the program. Use knowledge of project scope, expectations, and requirements to propose future directions based on outcomes. Communication: Communicates technical task outcomes to the business group and technical community. Shares findings with external parties or customers as needed. Prepares reports, presentations, and written documentation. Leadership: Identifies tasks, estimates completion times, and contributes to sub-teams. Leads projects or sub-teams and conducts training for customers and business teams. Intellectual Property: Creates Intellectual Property positions like proprietary advances, patents, and trade secrets. Records experimental data in technical notebooks or electronic files. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar discipline) with at least 12 months’ experience in product development Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar discipline) with no experience In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: Ability to understand and solve technical challenges in a professional manner utilizing the tools available or supporting the development of new tools Multi-tasking skills are a necessity along with a strong ability to re-prioritize at short notice. Ability to discretely manage confidential information and demonstrate maturity under pressure. Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and provide accurate information Excellent communication skills required to be able to converse with customers & internal personnel at varying levels of their organizations. Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Wimborne / Ferndown at least 4 days per week) Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
