Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a System and Controls Integration Engineer located at our site in Hazlehead, Sheffield. The engineer will be responsible for delivering electrical and automation-related projects across the Hepworth business whilst supporting operational performance and compliance.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement PLC programs for new equipment and system upgrades.
* Modify and troubleshoot existing PLC and HMI programs (Schneider).
* Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate control systems with machinery.
* Perform on-site system testing, commissioning, and validation of automated equipment.
* Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.
* Maintain documentation for electrical schematics, program backups, and system changes.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
* Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for automation equipment.
* Deliver and support capital and revenue engineering projects with electrical or automation elements.
Qualifications
* HNC in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
* Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
* Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control panels, sensors, and actuators.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of network protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet) is desirable.
* Knowledge of DESEAR and functional safety is desirable.
