We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic, bright, and hard-working Teaching Assistant to work on a long-term basis at a special educational needs school located in Telford.
This is a full-time position and is due to begin ASAP.
This school provides education for students from the age of 5-18 with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). You do not need previous experience of working as Teaching Assistant, however it is desirable. We do ask that you have previous experience supporting children or adults with special educational needs (SEND).
The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each child’s potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. You will be working with the students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
The role also requires preparing learning resources, setting up the classroom and maintaining the learning environments.
The role:
* Must be able to communicate effectively with both learners and young people with learning disabilities
* A desire to learn and a passion for working with children with additional needs
* A patient, caring, compassionate and child-centred approach
* Small class sizes with a maximum of 8 students in each class
* You will be responsible for safeguarding the young people and making sure they are healthy, safe and as comfortable as possible

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years
