Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in an Autism Support Base (ASB) at a well-regarded secondary school in Cwmbran. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and contributing to a positive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism in a dedicated ASD unit.
Create a calm, encouraging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, tailored learning activities.
Offer emotional and social support to help pupils build confidence and independence.
Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
Follow the school’s safeguarding and behaviour management policies.

Empathetic, resilient, and committed to making a difference.
Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) (preferred, but not essential).
Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS Certificate (we can assist).
Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
Willing to complete Level 2 Safeguarding Training (provided by us).
