Commercial Director – Sportswear Lifestyle Fashion Wholesale
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Commercial Director to lead and expand our client's wholesale business across the UK (primary market), Europe, and the USA. This senior leadership role carries responsibility for defining the commercial agenda, owning the P&L, and delivering sustainable sales growth while ensuring strong alignment with brand values.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in fashion, footwear, or apparel, with a proven record of building long-term partnerships, leading high-profile product launches, and driving growth across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Strategy
* Define and execute the wholesale commercial strategy for the UK, Europe, and USA.
* Lead seasonal budget planning, forecasting, and sales target setting across global accounts.
* Own the P&L, ensuring delivery of revenue, margin, and profitability targets.
* Identify new opportunities to expand into emerging accounts, channels, and markets.
Brand & Market Development
* Champion brand positioning across UK, Europe, and USA, ensuring commercial activity reflects brand direction.
* Oversee impactful product launches, retail campaigns, and activations across markets.
* Monitor consumer, retail, and competitor trends to adapt strategies for growth.
Key Account & Partnership Management
* Lead executive-level relationships with major retail and wholesale partners in the UK, Europe, and USA.
* Negotiate trading terms, distribution agreements, and marketing investments to maximise growth.
* Ensure assortments, pricing, and promotional strategies are optimised across different markets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Partner with design, merchandising, marketing, finance, and supply chain to align global product, brand, and stock strategies with commercial objectives.
* Drive seasonal GTM execution consistently across multiple geographies.
Team Leadership
* Build and lead a high-performing commercial and account management team.
* Develop talent, encourage cross-market collaboration, and instill a culture of accountability and innovation.
Performance Management
* Track and analyse sales performance across UK, European, and US accounts.
* Provide actionable insights to optimise sell-through, improve ROI, and fuel long-term growth.
* Report regularly to senior leadership on commercial performance, risks, and opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
* 15+ years' experience in senior commercial leadership roles within fashion, footwear, or apparel.
* Strong international wholesale experience covering UK, Europe, and North America.
* Proven P&L ownership and success in delivering profitable growth.
* Demonstrated ability to manage major accounts and retail partners at a senior level.
* Experience in brand management, merchandising, and GTM strategy.
* Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
