Overview
Due to ongoing expansion and a commitment to growth, our client seeks a highly motivated, industry-experienced Project Manager. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee multiple projects and serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle from award to completion.
We need a self-starter with project management experience in the HV power, utilities, or electrical T&D industry who thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will support HV installation operations and projects, directly managing team members' work, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, on time, professionally, and to high standards, in line with industry regulations and company safety practices.
The Person
* Trained and experienced as a Project Manager in the relevant sectors, capable of coordinating multiple teams, resources, materials, and site activities within budget.
* Proficient in creating project plans using MS Excel or Project.
* Possess an HNC equivalent qualification or completed an engineering apprenticeship.
* Committed to gaining or holding professional project management certifications.
* Experienced with LV and HV electrical systems, plant, and equipment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good numerical skills, and hold a valid UK driving licence.
* Possess certifications such as PASMA, IPAF, SMSTS, CSCS, and Confined Space.
* Experience working near roads and highways, with NRSWA accreditation.
The Role
* Have a solid understanding of commercial contracts, customer relationships, and site safety.
* Accountable for developing the Construction Phase Plan, communicating scope, quality standards, timelines, hazards, risks, and controls to ensure project completion on time, within budget, and to high standards.
* Ensure compliance with all H&S policies, including CDM regulations, safety rules, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
* Act as a point of escalation for delivery issues involving customers, site, and office teams.
* Manage a portfolio of construction projects valued between £5m and £15m, providing weekly progress reports.
* Lead 1-5 operational subcontractor contracts or frameworks.
* Identify efficiencies with contractors, suppliers, and partners to improve project and company profitability.
* Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication and meeting client expectations.
* Promote the company's reputation through positive behavior and attitude.
* Support future opportunities and assist estimators with tenders.
