Job Title: Assembly/Packer - Light Manufacturing
Job Purpose
To carry out assembly, packing, and dispatch duties within a light manufacturing environment, ensuring all products are built, packaged, and shipped to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble products and components according to work instructions, technical drawings, or standard operating procedures.
Carry out packing, labelling, and palletising of finished goods to meet customer specifications and company standards.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery safely and efficiently.
Perform quality checks at each stage of assembly and packing to ensure products meet required standards.
Accurately pick and prepare items for dispatch, ensuring correct documentation and labelling.
Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are handled safely and stored correctly.
Maintain stock accuracy by recording parts and materials used in the production and packing process.
Follow all health, safety, and manual handling procedures, including safe lifting of items up to 20kg.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and free from hazards in line with 5S/lean manufacturing principles.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and dispatch targets.
Report any defects, shortages, or machinery issues promptly to line management.
Flexibility to assist in other areas of production, packing, or warehouse operations when required.
Requirements
Previous experience in assembly, packing, or warehouse operations (preferred but not essential; training provided).
Physically fit and able to safely lift, move, and handle items weighing up to 20kg.
Ability to follow instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing workloads.
Basic understanding of workplace health & safety requirements.

Mon 7.00am - 4.30 pm
Tues 7.00am - 4.00 pm
Wed 7.00am - 3.30 pm
Thurs 7.00am - 3.30 pm
Fri 7.00am - 12.30 pm
Hourly Rate & Job Type:
Starting at £12.21 per hour
Temp to Perm Contract
