Highways Electrical Lighting Supervisor - Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Salary - £35,505 - £47,699
Fixed term - Until end of December 2024

As an experienced Highways Lighting professional, you will be comfortable allocating, monitoring and supervising a team of field staff to complete our installation and repair works. Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Commercial / Sales Engineers and Support Team, your supervision of the team will maintain and improve the performance of the project delivery.
However, as a consummate professional you will also ensure that each member of your team is properly authorised and trained to undertake the work allocated to them. Of course safety is paramount here at E.ON, therefore you’ll be responsible for the identification, evaluation and control of all potential on site hazards and ensuring that safety and quality are never compromised.
Other responsibilities include
1. Effective control and direction of field staff, incorporating agency and contractors.
2. Ensure field staff are fully compliant, properly authorised and trained to undertake the work allocated to them.
3. Create and promote an environment where the work force strives for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice.
4. Ensure that field staff are adequately equipped with tools, plant, transport, materials and specialist services sufficient to allow them to undertake allocated work.
5. Maintain discipline and monitor capability on-site.
6. Issue appropriate documentation and ensure the timely and accurate completion in accordance with company policies and procedures.
7. Improving performance through effective operations of the performance management process creating and promoting an environment where the work force strives for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice.
8. Ensure a high level of onsite visibility to promote high standards or delivery and productivity.
9. Recoding of daily checks for document compliance, driver vehicle maintenance, PPE, Workwear etc.

What we need from you
10. Wide range of knowledge and experience of Highways Lighting installation practice and procedures.
11. Safety Focussed, with detailed knowledge of Safety Management, Risk Assessment and safe working procedures. Ability to champion and foster a culture of change.
12. Working knowledge of Quality Management System.
13. Commercial awareness including basic contract law and management of risk.
14. Working knowledge of the jointing activity and authorised to set jointers to work.
15. Full UK driving licence, happy to travel and work unsociable hours when required.
It would be great if you have
16. Knowledge and experience of DNO/IDNO systems.
