We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lecturer in English to join our team on a full time, temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful candidate will teach Functional Skills and GCSE English to learners on Construction programmes, supporting a diverse cohort ranging from Entry Level to Level 2 in both ability and confidence.
Role Details
1. Start date: Immediate
2. Contract: Full time, temporary
3. Hours per week: 37 Monday–Thursday: 8:30–17:00 Friday: 8:30–16:30
4. Location: Construction courses (vocational pathway)
Key Responsibilities
5. Deliver high-quality lessons in Functional Skills and GCSE English to vocational students in construction disciplines.
6. Adapt teaching styles to suit entry-level learners up to Level 2, helping to build confidence and skills.
7. Motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
8. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
9. Complete all associated administrative and compliance duties.
Candidate Requirements
10. Prior teaching experience in English (GCSE and/or Functional Skills).
11. All compliance documentation and checks in place.
12. Able to start immediately.
13. Strong communication and classroom management skills.
14. Experience teaching students with varied confidence and entry levels preferred.
