Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other materials handling equipment within our warehouse environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through shipping and receiving processes, as well as maintaining inventory accuracy.
This is working on a construction site. The applicant requires both an FLT licence and valid CSCS card.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment to load and unload goods from lorries.
* Move products within the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and organisation.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality, reporting any necessary repairs.
* Maintain accurate records of inventory using a warehouse management system.
* Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring that all items are accounted for and properly documented.
* Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
* Valid forklift certification is essential.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
* Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices.
* Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and record keeping.
* Ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
