Motor Technology, Inc., a leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services, is seeking an experienced 3rd shift Electric Motor Technician I for our shop. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping industries operational and efficient. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Technicians are responsible for performing repairs on various electromechanical equipment.
The hours for this job are 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. 3rd shift employees receive a 12% shift differential in addition to the hourly rate.
Responsibilities:
* Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.
* Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC).
* Disassemble electromechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
* Clean electromechanical assemblies using methods such as parts washers, steamers, caustic tanks, glass beaders, etc.
* Measure or note proper placement of parts and requisition needed parts.
* Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, including bearings, brushes, gears, seals, impellers, brakes, clutches, and other components.
* Retest reassembled equipment for proper output and operation.
* Complete required forms on the computer system accurately for each job.
* Operate specialized repair and testing equipment as needed.
* Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy objects using appropriate equipment.
* Follow all safety procedures and wear proper protective gear.
* Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Mechanical aptitude
* Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, operational, and safety procedures
* Good computer skills
* Provide personal tools and toolbox
* Able to lift up to 50 lbs
* Willing to be on call one weekend every 5 weeks
