The Role:
Dungeon Master:
A Dungeon Master (DM) in Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is the storyteller who creates and narrates the game world, controls all non-player characters (NPCs) and monsters, and interprets the game's rules to guide the story and facilitate player actions. The DM's primary role is to facilitate an engaging and enjoyable experience by describing the environment, portraying inhabitants, and ensuring fair play, while adapting to the players' choices to create a dynamic and collaborative adventure. They may also be required to aid players in character creation, or come equipped with pre-made characters for players to choose from.
As a store Dungeon Master, you will need to be an expert in the rules of the game, endeavouring to keep yourself up to date with the newest rule changes and mechanics. Your role will entail prepping and hosting a new adventure for our weekly One Shot Wednesdays. Our One Shot Wednesdays often attract new players who have never played a TTRPG before. Your job will be to guide them through the game whilst ensuring they are comfortable and enjoying themselves along with everyone else at the table. Player numbers can vary week to week, so you may need to adjust your adventure on the fly to accommodate anywhere from 1 to 8 players. You will need to be welcoming, confident, and charismatic to ensure that players of all ages and abilities feel welcome at your table.
Part Time Customer Service Assistant:
As part of your role, you will also be rota-ed to work non Dungeons and Dragons related shifts in the store as a Customer Service Assistant. For this role, you will be required to assist customers by greeting them, answering their queries, and getting to know them. You will be required to process transactions through the till and pick and pack online orders ready for postage or in store pick up. Your role will involve processing deliveries, stocking shelves, and making sure the store is clean and visually appealing. You will be required to help host the different events we offer at Puca Puca Games which will entail utilising the appropriate software, calling out round pairings, inputting / announcing winners, and giving out appropriate prizing.
What we are looking for:
We are searching for an applicant with extensive experience as a Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons. The ideal applicant would be an expert in all things DnD whilst also being confident and charismatic, allowing them to host enjoyable game sessions for our customers.
As a customer service assistant, we are seeking someone who feels confident in their ability to maintain the daily operations of the store to a high standard whilst furthering the goals of the business.
We are seeking a hardworking, kind, and social person with a passion for gaming who can help maintain and cultivate our wonderful gaming community. Our ideal staff member would also have a keen eye for detail and experience in customer service / cash handling.
Although we would like to know your work experience, we really want to get to know you Please include a short cover letter telling us about you and your interests, particularly if they align with the nerdy offerings in our store.
