The Role:This is a Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment Officer within Saab UK's Land Systems Business Unit. Specifically, this role will work within the Training and Simulation (T&S) team. We provide solutions that suit the precise needs of our customer, with realistic exercises in both open and urban terrain, from individual and combined arms at platoon level, to joint operations at brigade combat team level. Key Responsibilities:QualityEnsure Work Instructions for each site are up to dateGather and upload Training Services (TS) KPIs into the Business Management System (BMS)Manage and follow up on T&S audits for all UK responsible sites:Manage the T&S Ops UK competency matrixProvide input into T&S quarterly management reviewsProvide QHSSE updates to the customer during Quarterly Progress Meetings (QPMs)SecurityFocal point for T&S for all Operational Country (OPC) UK security related topicsCoordination of T&S site security including key registers, passwords and access controlProvide Saab T&S input to the project Security Case (formerly RMADS) and associated documents for current projects in line with HMG Security Policy Framework & JSP440Develop and provide Security Case and associated documents for new projects in line with HMG Security Policy Framework & JSP440 to meet Secure by Design (SbD)Initiate the Security Clearance (SC) process for all T&S contractors with the OPC Security team and maintain a register of currencyComplete all MoD Contractor ID card applications process and maintain a register of holder complianceSupport and implement GDPR related activities as directed by the OPC UK Data Protection Officer (DPO)Assist the T&S bid team with security related documentation for new projects and tendersEnsure all security related documents held in BMS and up-to-datePrincipal advisor to the contract authority for the customer Security Working GroupsLiaise with OPC UK Head of Security for any Crisis Management Plan activities affecting T&SProvide country specific security briefings to T&S personnel prior to overseas deploymentsInput to the CONDO documentation to the authority for CONDO applicable deploymentsMaintain and update the security management plan and documents for contract TSSP 143Health & Safety and EnvironmentalResponsible for induction and OH&S briefing to T&S Headquarters staff and contractorsAssist OPC UK Hd QHSE by conducting annual work environment 1st party audits of T&S sitesAttend the OPC UK QHSE monthly meetingsT&S advisor to the contract authority for Project Safety and Environmental Panel (PSEP)Manage T&S incident reporting via InControlAssist with wider T&S OH&S and environmental work, as requiredEnsure all sites hold relevant OH&S documents and Work Instructions/references are up to dateMaintain and review the site environmental aspects in accordance with the wider T&S focusGather and report GHG information to Hd QHSE on a quarterly basisMaintain and update the Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) for contract TSSP 143 and support the OHS&E requirements for new projects and tendersMaintain safety related documents in the Saab Industrial and Financial System (IFS)LogisticsMaintain and apply for T&S UK Export Licenses on Spire for all military and dual-use controlled goodsSubmit the T&S Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) annual license usage returns to the Export Control Manager (ECM)Represent T&S at all Saab export control audits and Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) compliance visitsSubmit customs clearance instructions to freight agents for shipments into the UKProvide logistic support and advice to T&S sites (including customs clearance)Provide UK specific working instructions for the process of import and export of goodsMaintain and update Export/Import project plans and documents for contract TSSP 143 Qualifications and Skills:NEBOSH (General) or equivalent L3 safety related qualificationNEBOSH (Environmental Management) or equivalentWorking knowledge of UK Export Control (inc UK Strategic Export Control List)SC ClearanceUnderstanding of HMG Security Policy Framework (inc Security Cases and SbD)Working knowledge of JSP440, GDPR and DPA 2018Experience of Risk ManagementExperience of working with logisticsProficient in Microsoft Office By submitting an application to Saab UK you consent to undertaking workforce screening activities that may include but are not limited to: Baseline Personnel Security checks, National Security Vetting, reference checks, verification of working rights and in all circumstances preferred candidates will be placed through a security interview.
